Pleased to Meet You is another popular establishment on Roe Street, with food inspired by Central and South America. Their concept is to be an "indoor food truck" and serves share plates, sandwiches and burgers. Since we've been impressed with almost every restaurant on Roe Street, we had to try Pleased to Meet You!
We must say that we love the decor in here! The exposed brick, drop down lamps and rustic decor gives it such a homely feeling.
Does this picture look familiar? It's our new main picture for our blog and it was taken in this lovely location with the help of our talented friend Louise Chen, who joined us today for lunch. She is the genius behind The Faceless Style blog, which is a creative combination of fashion, photography and writing, so show it some love!
Crispy School Prawns ($9)
We were a little disappointed when this dish came out as we were expecting the larger type of prawns. The prawns were light and crunchy, but there was not much flavour or creativity to this dish. We appreciate that there was hot sauce given to accompany it, however it just acts as a mask for lack of flavour. We rate this dish 4/10.
Chicken Habanero ($30)
The chicken was one of favourite dishes, it meet all of our expectations of a good chicken dish. The meat was juicy, tender and succulent, filled with delicious aromas from the herbs and spices. We liked that we were given different parts of the chicken to choose from, so when you're sharing with friends, they can choose their favourite part of the chicken whether its a breast or thigh. This dish deserves a rating of 8/10.
Ranch Salad & Quinoa ($12.50)
We absolutely love it when restaurants get creative with their salads, it's certainly a more enticing way to get our fix of vegetables. We loved the combination of sweet potato, cauliflower and rocket leaves with a creamy yet zesty dressing. The almonds gave it a nice crunchy texture while the soft quinoa made the salad more substantial and filling. This salad was definitely deserving of a rating of 9/10.
Chorizo Mussels ($22.50)
We were extremely excited to try this dish as the combination of chorizo with mussels intrigued us, most mussels are just served with just a chilli tomato sauce. Upon tasting the dish our mouths were filled with flavour, the mussels were cooked to perfection and paired with the heat and spice from the chorizo this definitely was a match made in heaven. The crusty bread was also a lovely component as it was ideal for dunking in the spicy sauce. The mussels were another one of our favourite dishes, therefore we give it a rating of 9/10.
Smores ($8)
Smores! What else can we say, it's one of our favourite desserts so as soon as we saw it on the menu we couldn't resist! The dish was a deconstructed version of the American smores you would normally see. We loved that the dish was quite large and great for sharing between more than one person. The Smores consisted of creamy chocolate mousse, soft toasted marshmallows and crispy ginger biscuits making it a truly indulgent dessert. This is definitely one of the best desserts we have tried, so we believe it deserves a rating of 9.5/10.
Overall Review
Pleased to Meet You has really impressed us and raised the bar for dining in Perth! Compared to other restaurants their share menu has reasonable prices and large serving sizes, in addition to that, they also do cheap lunch deals that we're yet to try. It's a great place to go when you want to try something more hip in Perth that won't break the bank, we highly recommend it and rate it 9/10.
